99-05 Mazda Miata MX-5 NB 1.8L 5-Speed Manual Transmission MT Swap 174k 5246
5-speed manual transmission conversion kit from a 2004 Mazda Miata with 174,501 miles. This transmission swap kit includes the 5-speed transmission with flywheel, clutch master and slave cylinders with line, full pedal assemblies, power plant frame and driveshaft. This transmission was tested prior to removal and shifted through all gears properly and without issue. When drained the fluid was clean and free of any heavy metallic or debris. The shifter assembly is attached and included but the rubber boot does have a tear in it. This does NOT include a vehicle speed sensor, as the one you will need is determined by your rear gear ratio. All threaded and mounting holes are intact and undamaged. The used clutch disk and pressure plate are included but are not guaranteed to be good, and we recommend installing a new clutch during installation. This kit is incomplete and only includes the pictured items but is all the large parts you need for a 5-speed swap. The images are of the actual transmission and parts you will receive.
This transmission has been drained of all its fluids and WILL need refilled prior to use.
Original equipment from 1999-2005 Mazda Miata with manual 5-speed transmission.
This will also fit 1999-2005 Mazda Miata with automatic transmission as a swap but will require additional parts.
Freight shipping is available to any address within the lower 48 states. A $75 lift gate service fee will be added to all orders being shipped to an address without a loading dock or forklift. No shipping outside the contiguous 48 states. No P.O. boxes. No international shipping.

We ship to all 50 states. Most orders leave our Hazelwood, MO shop within 1–2 business days by FedEx, UPS, or USPS, and you’ll get tracking by email as soon as it’s on the way.
Heavy items like engines, transmissions, and body panels may ship freight — we note that on the listing when it applies. Alaska and Hawaii have a flat-rate surcharge calculated at checkout. We don’t ship to PO Boxes or outside the U.S.
Local pickup is available at our Hazelwood facility by appointment — call ahead to set a time.
Returns are accepted within 60 days. A 20% restocking fee applies to standard returns, but it’s waived if we sent the wrong part, it arrived damaged, or it’s verified defective. Inspect your order on arrival and contact us within 7 days in those cases — we cover return shipping.
Programmed ECU/ECM/PCM modules are returnable only if defective, damaged, or incorrect. Because each one is programmed to the VIN you provide, we can’t take them back for compatibility issues from an incorrect VIN, odometer, or part number — double-check before you order.
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
Every part carries a 60-day limited warranty against defects from the date it’s delivered. It covers manufacturing defects, parts that fail to function as described, and internal mechanical or electrical failure under normal use.
Not covered: damage from improper installation, accident, misuse, or modification; normal wear and tear; labor, towing, or rental costs; racing, off-road, or commercial use unless stated; and items with broken warranty seals.
